Job Information

Handle technical service, application development, and market development activities for plastics, elastomers, and rubber materials in India and assigned regions. Drive customer support, product commercialization, localization of products & R&D initiatives, and business growth. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical service team on a pan-India basis for Mitsui Chemicals India products and aligned businesses.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Rubber, Elastomer, TPV, and other specialty compound applications. Handle customer complaints, product performance evaluations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. 
  • Coordinate with HQ, R&D, production, quality, and external stakeholders for successful project execution. Support local R&D initiatives, customer, market, and application developments, and commercialization activities. 
  • Work closely with automotive, solar, wire & cable, footwear, and consumer durable customers on material selection and processing optimization. Support solar encapsulant film development, customer qualification trials, and commercialization activities.
  • Support marketing and business development activities for sales expansion in India and assigned overseas markets.

Qualifications

  • Degree - Bachelor's/master’s degree (preferred)
  • Certification - Polymer technology, Plastic Technology/Engineering/ Chemical Engineering

Experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in technical services, production experience is a must, partial sales and marketing is an added advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of plastics, elastomers, rubber materials, various applications, solution selling, and application innovation.
  • Hands-on experience on major processing machines (twin-screw extruders, film lines, Banbury mixers, two-roll mills, injection moulding and compression moulding machines) and related testing equipment’s
  • Strong knowledge of rubber compounding, mixing, curing, and formulation development. Experience in solar encapsulant films (POE/EVA/EPE/EP), adhesion, crosslinking, durability, and weatherability requirements are added advantage
  • Handling customer complaints and introducing new products and solutions within MCI or outside MCI products as per customer & market requirements
  • Awareness of major compliance and regulatory requirements.
