Thomson Reuters highly evaluated Mitsui Chemicals’ investment in innovations and its efforts to protect intellectual property rights both domestically and overseas. This is the first time Mitsui Chemicals has been named for this honor.

Mitsui Chemicals will continue to strengthen its intellectual property activities to protect its global business while respecting intellectual property rights of colleagues around the world.

For the fifth consecutive year, Thomson Reuters, one of the world’s leading information service companies, analyzed the relationships between patent protection, innovation, and economic success of companies around the globe. Based on analysis of overall patent volume, patent-grant success rates, global reach, and invention influence as evidenced by citations, Thomson Reuters selected this year’s Top 100 Global Innovators.

Reason for Mitsui Chemicals’ Selection

Mitsui Chemicals was named as one of Thomson Reuters 2015 Global Top 100 Innovators for its high marks in all selection criteria with exceptional growth in “global reach” and “invention influence”. Thomson Reuters recognized Mitsui Chemicals’ strong intellectual property strategy which focuses on the international market and commercialization of its innovations that have had profound effects on the global market.
